Low Tide Treasures

I found these along the edge of the shoreline on Nova Scotia’s South Shore, where the tide has little mercy. These rocks sit where the water returns again and again — pushed, pulled, and pounded by waves through storms, changing seasons, and countless tides. Yet they remain.
What caught my eye was the contrast. Among the worn stones were small pieces of shell and scattered periwinkles tucked into the spaces between them — fragile things resting beside something far more solid. Together they told a quiet story about resilience.
