After the Tide

One of my favourite things to do is walk the beach after the tide recedes. There’s always a sense of possibility — the thought that something unexpected might have washed ashore: a message in a bottle, a piece of history, or some small forgotten artifact. Most days, I find nothing of that sort, but that never stops me from looking.

And honestly, I’m never disappointed. By the end of the walk, I’m always reminded that what I’ve found is often far more valuable — the quiet beauty of nature, the changing shoreline, and the simple act of being present enough to notice it.
